Goan Crab Curry

Crab,  another favorite item for sea-food lovers. When i was in WB,  i saw only red crabs,  bt here in Bangalore blue printed crabs are most popular and tastier too. I haven't tried this dish in GOA, as i have never been there. Reason after naming it is the ingredients tamarind and coconut.

Main recipe is my mom's,  i just tried to give it a little change. Its bit tangy than sweet.
So here we go.

Ingredients

500gm crabs cleaned and cut,
1 tsp salt,
1 tsp turmeric powder,
1 tsp cumin powder,
2 tbsp onion paste,
1 tsp ginger paste,
1 tsp garlic paste,
2 tsp hanging curd,
1 tsp tamarind paste,
2-3 green chillies paste,
2 tsp crushed coconut,
1 tsp garam masala powder,
Mustard oil.

Process

In wok heat oil add the crabs with little salt and turmeric powder, fry till golden. Keep it aside.
In the same oil add thw paste of onion,  ginger,  garlic and chillies. Fry them till oil cimea out.
Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and cumin powder.  Mix well.
Add beaten hanging curd and tamarind paste. Again mix and add water for gravy consistency. Bring it to boil add fried crabs pieces.
As you reach to your needed gravy amount add garam masala powder.
Garnish with crushed coconut.
Enjoy with steam rice.

Happy cooking.
